How the chart is built
The period number sits in the centre and "flies" through the nine palaces along the Luo Shu path. The stars that land in the sitting and facing palaces move to the centre as the mountain and water stars and fly forward or backward depending on the Yin or Yang polarity of the 24 mountains. Period 9 runs from 2024 to 2043.
The four classical chart types depend on where the timely stars land: at the back and front (Wang Shan Wang Xiang, the best), both at the front, both at the back, or reversed (Shang Shan Xia Shui).
